It really doesn’t matter

if its crisp, betty, out of the hand, baked or in a pie, the apple is the king in our house.
This is Karl’s favourite fruit and he eats an apple a day all through the winter well into the spring.  Then he stops.  They are old by then with no flavour and he waits ‘til a new crop starts up again in the fall.  He loves Golden Delicious and we also like Cortland apples for pies. sept fused
We have noticed in several new recipes lately that the delicious apple is now being used in pies.  To me it makes no difference.  I’m no connoisseur.  Just give me a piece of pie warm from the oven.  Just the pie…..no whipped cream, no ice cream, no hiding the flavour.  sept embroider
I guess you’ve figured out by now that this month is the yummy pie.  Perfect for September when the days begin to cool and the apples are ripe for the picking and you can turn the oven on and not heat everything up worse than it already is.
