We went to Niagara

We picked the girls up at 9:30 and off we went down the Q.E.W to Niagara.  Our first stop was the aviary

then we went for lunch.  The girls got to choose and we went into Wendy's.  I don't think they had been before so we gave it a try.  I certainly won't go back.  Karl and I have tried them 3 times and came away disappointed each time.  This time the burger was a bit on the cool side.  Morgan didn't like her chicken fingers and Taylor said absolutely nothing, so it was either okay or she just didn't care for it and didn't want to say anything.

Next stop was the Skywheel.  We didn't think to take pictures of it so nothing to show you.  It had been raining and the windows were a bit wet so the photos weren't that great.  We asked Taylor to go out and clean them off, but for some reason she refused.  Perhaps it was because we were 175 feet up in the air?  Could be.

Taylor was a bit cold due to a lack of clothing so thought a trip to the greenhouse was in order.  It did the trick

After we warmed up in the greenhouses we drove back along the roadway past the Falls.  Lots of mist
coming off the water and there was still some ice at the foot of the falls.  Morgan and I took a few pictures, but Grandpa was packed illegally so we had to make a quick outing of it.

When we left the greenhouses I asked if anyone would like to go to Niagara on the Lake, a beautiful town just down the road and around the corner from the Falls.  Morgan said "no", and I said "oh well, no ice cream today then."  Boy, did she change her mind fast.  We stopped at the Sir Adam Beck Generating Station and saw where Grandpa used to drive his 18 wheeler down to and unload his chlorine.  They were pretty much in awe of that.  So is his wife.  Wouldn't catch me doing that!!

It was a fantastic day.  We all thoroughly enjoyed it.  Plans are underway for the next trip.  Summer of 2011 cause we want to journey under the falls.  There must be something else we can do too.  I'll have to check it out.  It won't be the Maid of the Mist as Morgan flatly refuses to go on that boat.
