.......and they are done!

I promised a follow up on the lap quilts I was making over the summer months.  There are a few posts about them, however, I'm not going to give links to all of them.
These quilts are being donated.
Our new hospital in town is going to have a chemotherapy department and seeing our daughter go through this, I know what chemo can do to a body.
Our wonderful neighbour and doctor is part of this.  She is adamant she will save women with breast cancer.  I wish I had my camera in hand when I offered to make quilts for the unit.
She was shocked!  She knows too what people go through.
These are the first of many.  I will continue with this as my way of giving back for the wonderful care I was given when I went through my year of "hell".
On a cheerier note
I finished my raw edge quilt today.  I started the binding on Friday at stitch and chat and as the weather is absolutely fabulous today, I sat on the front porch and spent my Sunday morning stitching and talking to "the farmer".  It's our lazy day.
The binding is scrappy as I said it would be.  All the trimmings from the back of the quilt are sewn around.
It works beautifully on a quilt that I just grabbed fabric and made up into butterflies and flowers.  I saw another pattern similar to this and may give it a go someday.
The butterflies worked out beautifully and really show up on the back.  This could actually be used either or!  It's up to me, because I'm keeping this one.
