Fort McMurray

is a small community in northern Alberta that has been devastated.  The entire town was evacuated due to a wildfire that grew.  The photos that are coming out don't tell the whole picture.

These are the people leaving.  Hundreds and hundreds of cars with families inside.  No clothing, no possessions, just running away from the most brutal photos I have seen since Slave Lake.
I am writing this late last Thursday evening and at that time, there was no end in sight.  If rain didn't start to fall soon, more and more would be gone.
I cannot imagine loosing my Granny's little salt and pepper shakers, or the mementos of trips we have taken.  I cannot imagine loosing my children's baby photos, but when you have a choice between you, your children and "possessions", you choose your family.
4 years ago the people from my little circle of quilters collected quilts for the people of Slave Lake, it is time again to
Blanket Love but this time to the people of Fort Mac!
I have several quilts chosen and fortunately for me, I have a wonderful neighbour who will take them out to my friend Linda who owns Patchwork Fabrics in Slave Lake, Alberta.
These are two of them.  I made them a few years back but it's time for them to find a new home.  They don't fit the beds in our house but someone will receive them and love them.  I also have some children's quilts that will go with them.

Anyone can give................think for a moment........what if it was you............
Patchwork Fabrics will gladly take your quilt and donate it to a person in desperate need of a hug from their friends across this country.
This is the address:
220 2 Avenue NW
Slave Lake, Alberta
T0G 2A1

Please help.  It will be so appreciated.  Completed quilts only please.
