I thought about it...

for 5 seconds and thought why not.  Go for it.
I had just finished the bindings on two small quilts and as always I had binding left over.  I have heard people save it and for what I didn't know.
Sooooooo,
I decided
to save mine
from these two quilts
and I sewed them together.
I went downstairs to see if I had any more
and I did
so I added that to what I already had.
When they were all sewn together I wrapped them around a half bolt board.
If you don't have a board, ask at your quilt shop if they have a bolt board they could give you.
Take it home, cut it in half.
They are so handy to have in the sewing room.

When I have a long enough length, I'll press them all open.
This is going to be a memory quilt for me.
We give a lot of quilts away in a year and once they are gone
I no longer see them.
I never seem to be able to recall them in my mind
but this way
a little piece of that quilt will stay with me.

I sew in the basement in this lovely huge room that used to be the recreation room when everyone was home.  Once they left..........and we didn't have as much use for it.......
it became my big sewing room.
Problem is, it gets very cold in the winter and my electric heater is very expensive to run.
I've tried to perservere with hot pads and sweaters, but my fingers suffer.
Karl decided to make me a new table I could use up in the back bedroom
"a.k.a. the fabric storage room"
What a change from sewing in a freezing room.
I am really enjoying being upstairs for a few months.
That is my little travel machine.  I love sewing my bindings on with the walking foot on this machine.
Time to switch back to the Sapphire and tuck this one away for a few days.
