Wordless Wednesday

sort of!
My penguin quilt was finished on the 22nd of December and delivered the same day.  I put it on the long arm on the 18th and sat watching a tv show on the 21st sewing down the binding.  I am really happy with this quilt and want to thank Sindy at Fat Cat for the wonderful pattern.  The pattern is still available for purchase.  Just click on Store and scroll down.
I used a Glide thread on the top and Sew Fine by Superior on the back.  I love a fine thread in the bobbin because it goes on and on and on! Actually I brought nearly a full bobbin home and filled three bobbins for my Sapphire.  I'm ready to sew for awhile!
Here we go.  The quilt in photos.  This is the panto I used.  It is called Snowdrift by Urban Elementz. Anne made it big so it went really fast.
Isn't the snowflake wonderful and big?

and the back being wound on the frame
The packages needed bows but after thinking about it, I decided not to use ribbon and I did some free motion thread work.
 and this quilt is for
some stitching on the holly leaves
and one penguin needed a bow tie with a bit of puff in the middle!
the binding worked with the outer border after introducing it on the inner border

we didn't get any snow, but the holly bushes had their red berries
and of course, as is typical, a breeze was blowing
and the back is
I ordered the backing fabric on line and when it came I was really disappointed.
It was advertised as flannelette and it was cotton.  When you order from a company in Georgia, you think twice about returning it.
This was the second time this company messed up, so I won't be giving them a third chance.
