Smug!

That was how I felt one Saturday.  I had a baby quilt sewn together in less than two days from this cute animal print.  I bought it when Cody was ordering something and when it got here I thought how easy this would be to work with.  Wrong!
I played with this for a few days and then decided to just go for it.  I cut strips 6 1/2" x 2 1/2" and then placed them on the flannel wall.
One set is grey, white, grey and the other is white, grey, white.
I strip pieced the units and then put the rows together.  I was feeling rather smug
until
I realized I was one row short!  I had a lot of strips left over and then I knew why.
I took an hour out of a not so busy day, finished up the last row and
now it is set aside waiting for a "Cody" day so I can get it machine quilted.
I know I will be using a dark grey Gütermann thread and I will be using a co-ordinate on the back with a giraffe theme as the quilting.
I'll post a photo later when it is all finished.
That makes my 6 baby quilts for the fall.  Now to start to plan my 6 spring quilts for donation.

The side bar says 32 days until winter.  Tell that one to Mother Nature this morning.
Brrrrrr, it is cold out there.  Thank goodness for heaters in cars.  I'm on my way out soon.
