Memories of PEI

This quilt is for me!
I bought the fabric on the Island and when I was looking at the finished quilt the other day, I saw "ruby, emerald and sapphire".......... the words Lucy Maud Montgomery used to describe her Island home.
I took the quilt over to Sewing Machines, etc. and between Jane and I we decided how this one was going to be quilted.  I wanted large flowers, I didn't wanted it quilted densely, I really wanted a green thread.  We -- as in Jane -- accomplished it all.

A beautiful Superior King Tut thread #1008 which is called Avocado.  Not variegated this time.

I wanted to replicate one of the flowers in the quilt.  As luck would have it, Golden Threads have a panto called Button Flower which was perfect.
I have had flannel quilts machine quilted before and the panto wasn't large enough.  It got lost, so this time we did b.i.g.!  It really looks fabulous.
Jane actually put this one through for me while I worked on another. Thanks Jane.  I can't take any credit for this machine work.
and the back....just a mish mash of fabrics left over from other things.
The quilt measures 60" x 60", which is just fine for those lovely afternoon naps that are sure to come this winter.
I'm tossing this photo in at the end so you can see just how great a photographer I am.  My camera shuts itself down after a few minutes and when I open it back up again it snaps a new photo......sometimes......not always.  I think somedays I'm just a bit trigger happy.
I was surprised to see the rays coming through what looks like a bit of morning mist.  Didn't even feel anything when I was outside.
