Summertime means

its July and July in our house brings out the ice cream.  Whether in a cone or a bowl, sugar free or regular we eat it nearly every day.  Sometimes with trimmings, sometimes without.
July 1  Whether you embroider this block,
do all applique………………July 2 or you do both
July 3  this block will surely bring memories of days when you would sit on the porch in the hot summer weather cooling off with your favourite flavour.
We have many memories of evenings spent with our kids and our dogs eating our way through ice cream cones.  The dogs tongue would be hanging to the ground waiting for that tip of the cone that we all made sure was loaded.  Our new wee friend likes her ice cream too.  We have a few makes of ice cream that we eat, one being Chapmans and the other from the Island which I know Karl and I will indulge in when we are down.
I have a tip for you when serving up your ice cream…….Take a glass and fill with water.  Dip your ice cream scoop in the water and then the ice cream.  The ice cream will fall out of the scoop without sticking.  Dip back in the water each time.  Oh, oh, one more tip.......if you have a partial carton of ice cream, cover with waxed paper and it won’t get those little ice crystals forming on the top.
Enjoy the block of the month.  All the directions here are over on the Calendar Quilt page.  I was a bit leery of trying to post it here as I've had trouble getting my brain in gear and doing the copy and paste thing.  Guess I'm in holiday mode already.
